Antibiotic use in prostatic disease in dogs

Abstract

Knowledge of pharmacokinetics of currently available antibiotics permits 6 veterinarians to choose antibiotic therapy based on microbial culture and sensitivity 7 results and ability of various classes of antibiotics to readily distribute through prostatic 8 tissue. This may replace other diagnostic tests used to support antibiotic choice, such as 9 measurement of pH of ejaculated prostatic fluid.
